Many nights after a busy day I look forward to a cup of chamomile tea, jammies and a good book. I have tried several types of chamomile and even harvest what I can of our own here at End of the Road.... but hte special treat after a very long day is Republic of Tea Chamomile lemon to me this requires nothing but a plop of honey to make it wonderful....I sleep like a baby after one cup. I so understand why Peter Rabbit's mother put him to bed with a cup of it after his harrowing day with the farmer. when my own children were little i too would fix them chamomile tea and toast . Jamie, when he was no more then 2 would ask for cammy meal tea...
After watching the Ken Burns special National Parks, i dug out tow of the books on our selves by John Muir funny how they had sat there for all this time un touched..and now we can't get enough. These will surely go into my Book Across the States reading.. Currently Chris and I are reading a Thousand Mile Walk to the Gulf together and I am reading National Parks. I am scouring paperbackswap ( which if you have not used them I suggest you do) and half dot com for some of his other books.
Yesterday the smell of peanutbutter cookies was all through the house... not for me but for the Pups!
Dog Treats
2
cups whole-wheat flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 cup peanut butter (chunky or smooth)
1 cup milk
Preheat oven to 375'F. In a bowl, combine flour and baking
powder. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk, then add to
dry ingredients and mix well. Place dough on a lightly floured surface
and knead. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness and use a cookie cutter
to cut out shapes. Bake for 20 minutes on a greased baking sheet
until lightly brown. Cool on a rack, then store in an airtight container.
--- This is the original recipe, but I have found the cookies burn
easily.
The dogs LOVED them. A couple of years ago I bought a dog bone shaped cookie cutter when we visited Mast General store ..These made several big dog treats ( our dogs are over 100 lbs each)..
Busy day today....
Pray for the troops...and have a fine day...all day long!
