Last night at fellowship there were two delicious cakes to try. I am not sure what the cake Kim made was called, it had almond flavor and was very good...
The other Miss Jean made, Eclair Cake. I found this recipe from Paula Deen that sounds like it is equal to what she made.
Today was picture perfect and I spent a great deal of time reading out on the deck...two fold reason.
First, it was just the right temperature and it felt good..
Second because our new neighbor and his brothers were cutting down trees in their front yard and they spent quite a few hours with ropes around their waist yelling and fussing and much chain sawing over a tree that I could tell was not going to fall as they had planned..
1. it would hit their house
2. it would hit an open spot they had originally hoped for and were trying to lure it back to..
3. our power lines
after more pulling and tying off, it lodged in two trees... ~sigh~
and with some more tugging it fell... and clipped our power line...~sigh~
so while all this was going on, between crisis, I read a few more books in my Bible, I had hoped to read the Bible from one birthday to the next and it looks like I'll finish ahead of schedule..
Today were Micah, nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah. all prophesy books... one of my Bible Study groups did a study on minor prophets last year and I did not attend that session, I wish I had.. these types of books are a bit confusing to me. I tend to try and read them as New Testament when they are Old Testament books one thing I know... they point to Jesus!
So, Chris and I rounded off our evening eating nachos and watching the power company re tighten our power lines.. the dishes are now washed, laundry folded, and I am relaxing with some cross stitch this evening..
I am working on 12 Days of Christmas by Sue Hillis that I hope to use as part of party favors for Christmas this year...
I hope and pray you each have a fine day...all day long!
