Today I hosted our little crochet group for lunch and a mystery crochet along.
a size G hook
white acrylic yarn
a small bit of acrylic yarn in any color
hot glue or tacky glue
1 battery operated tea light ( I bought mine in bulk from Amazon because I knew I would be making several of these)
The final product ends up something like this: ( My friend Stephanie's ornament)
Crochet Tea Light Snowman
with white acrylic yarn, chain 6 and join with slip st to beginning chain
Rd 1: chain 1 and then crochet 2 sc in each stitch around join and chain 1 ( 12 sc)
Rd 2 2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in next st around ( 18sc) chain 1
Rd 3 2sc in first stitch, 1sc in next 2 st around ( 24 st) chain 1
Rd 4 ( in back loops ) sc in each st around (join) ch 1
Rd 5 sc in each st around ( join) ch 1
Rd 6 insert tea light with " flame: in the middle of the circle of your piece and sc in first stitch, sc 2tg ( decrease made) follow pattern all the way around
stop here or add another round of sc, sc2tg until the tea light fits snuggly but you are still able to turn the switch on.
glue bead, button or tiny pom pom eyes and mouth on, add a tiny amount of pink blush on cheeks
With different color yarn
ch 15, sc in each stitch across fasten off and weave in ends
Glue to top of snowman, add pompom for ear muff sides with hot glue.. had a hanging cord ..
I served homemade soup, several kinds of crackers and cheese and humus. We had cookie pizza for dessert and of course, sweet tea to drink.
It was so wonderful to have these ladies in my life, and to see our finished projects . We will be able to hang them on the tree and remember our Christmas get together 2015
