Yesterday my friend Bonnie came over for lunch and some backyard ( or should I say backwoods) sleuthing. We both love the outdoors and have hiked some trails together, did a bit of canoeing, so it seemed like the thing to do after filling our selves with homemade pizza, brownies, tea and lemonade to burn off some calories looking over our "back 40".
Bonnie has so much knowledge on plants! I enjoyed identifying spice bush, wild cherry, persimmon and several other plants..
..rattlesnake plant ( hate the name... love the look of the plant
..there were large mushrooms
and the old houses the boys swear are haunted
..but the score of the day... and maybe leads to some truth in the haunted story...
Nonetheless, while this plant might be FOUND worldwide, it is rare to see because just the absolute right conditions are needed for it to grow. we found several plants on our walk... My favorite were the white with some black...
..but it was interesting to find the ones wiht a bit of pink... I thought they looked like shrimp
The afternoon was both enjoyable and educational for me. My camera was with Chris so all photos are by Bonnie. she did a wonderful job capturing our walk.
Enjoy God's World...
