First of all thank you everyone who prayed for my future DIL as they determined she has a blood clot in her lung. We are thankful that her body is absorbing it well and she is on medication so the wedding is going forward as planned ( no plane rides though!) Next if you could pray for my Grandmother who is well in her 90's and hospitalized with heart problems. I talked to her today and she seeemed in semi good spirits and was able to joke a bit.
It seemed most fittign this week that I read Hinds' Feet On High Places by Hannah Hurdard.
Here is what Amazon has to say about it:
Hinds' Feet on High Places is one of the most successful works of Christian fiction. It is the story of a young woman named Much Afraid and her journey away from her Fearing family into the High Places of the Shepherd. It is an allegory of the Christian life from salvation through maturity. It doesn't actually describe life in Heaven, but shows how the Christian is transformed from unbeliever to immature believer to mature believer, who walks daily with his/her Lord as easily on the High Places of Joy in the spirit as in the daily life of the mundane and often-times humiliating trials that tempt us to lose perspective of who we now are in Christ.
This was a quick read, only 145 pages, but each page I found my self nodding with the trials of Much Afraid. At one point she begs to trust, yet she is scared of what the Lord might have planned for her so she wil trust. Such a good book. I highly suggest it!
I also read over the Book of Proverbs this weekend. If you ever need an answer on what you should do or how you should act, start reading.. its power packed with great advice, godly advice..AND as 11:29 says:
Whoever brings ruin on their family will inherit only wind,
and the fool will be servant to the wise.
Now I am going to have to scrounge up that movie and watch it again....
Lastly, I was quick to order a pre-release of this book:
Yes, one of the things Becky did in her last months was to pen her life as a missionary . I have read snips of it before and I must say it is inspiring... You can order a copy through Energion Publications at a special pre release price.. worth every penny. I sent Dave an email after I ordered and told him how I wish Becky were here to give me an autograph copy... " Me too, be inspired my friend" he wrote back. I can not fathom a fraction of his grief right now. This is a wonderful way to keep Becky's story alive.
Tormorrow is a work day, play day, errand day. so winding down and praying everyone has a fine day... all day long!
