Not sure where the energy came from today, but I "strike , while the iron is hot"... so before lunch I had switched and drained the keifer, made some dog treats, baked crackers, cleaned both bathrooms, washed and hung two loads of laundry, planted the cilantro and hard muclched it, dug out the area for the peas, cleaned a bit of the spare room and mopped the bedroom and pantry... needless to say by lunch time I was ready to relax with a cuppa tea and content to read a bit.
this stuff was delicious! It required not a drop of honey.. the caramel and vanilla did all the..and while I sat with my feet up, I finished the book of Hebrews and included some notes for Monday's Bible Study, and the book of James... which is one of my favorites. It was wonderful to relax reflecting on faithof the past, reflecting on my own level of faith, and reminders of why we ahve faith. Both the tea and THE WORD were good til the last drop!
Making crackers has been on my todo list for quite some time..We love snack crackers... ( probably a bit too much), so when Amanda posted this cracker recipe, I knew the time had come...
I used some of the keifer in lieu of heavy cream and made three types, garlic, cheese, and ranch..
these were really good, next time I will crisp them up a bit more... not bad for the first batch though... the ranch was our favorite....
I got the idea for slicing a sweet potato and dehydrating it for dog treats from Eric at Garden Fork
go ahead and click for the video and recipe... he has a bunch of other cool stuff on there too...as a matter of fact we have a grow light project coming up from one of his how to videos...
So, dinner was pork roast , sauerkraut and beets.... I have tried pickled beets, Harvard beets, cooked beets.... and I am going to have to raise my hand and say.... I don't like beets... I WANT to like beets, ALL back to the lander crunchy cons are suppose to love beets... but I can't... they taste like dirt to me.. the only way I haven't tried them yet is roasted, and I might.. just might do a root vegetable roast soon so I can completely put the beet debate to rest... if its not already..
I hope and pray all ahve a fine day....all day long!
