This past weekend didn't quite goes as planned. We had hopes that Sunday was going to be a fun day... and it was.. just not what we had planned... but flexibility is the name of the game some days... " and going with the flow"...
Because of the change in plans I had plenty of time to finish a cross stitch project ( blog post to come) and read a book.
Is the first hand account from the Navy Seal who found Osama Bin Laden.
If you are a military person, this book would be good. I personally found it dry in parts , not understanding the excitement of the cache of guns and equipment that was described in detail for these missions ( there are 20 chapters and only 2 or 3 really focus ont he Bin Laden attack... but I hate to slam the book too much because it did give an accurate account of the situation...
I was also able to spend the evenings sipping some lovely tea that requires no sweetner what so ever.
I sip this tea about 10:00 and am ready for bed by 11:00 and sleep like a baby!
Last night was the last night of sewing class.
Oh how I love these ladies... I think we spend more time clucking then sewing... Two more weeks until we start meeting again....
I wish I had started off with wool instead of mohair.. the length of the strands were very short and so I am not sure it is good as a starter roving to spin... but I really liked the process and in my mond were visions of sheep, and spinning wheels , and looms and ...... well... you get the picture...
Before I get too far ahead of myself.... I'll just continue to drop and spin.....
Crossing off another 55 in 55 ..and loving every monute!
I finished two more books of the Bible. Numbers, and John.
The Book of Numbers was interesting because no matter the fact I have read and reread it all these years, I never understood that the 40 years in the desert for the Isrealites ws not just random.... but the length of time it took those who left Eygpt to die according to God's will that they would not cross over to the Promise Land... only Joshua and Caleb and those under 20 years of age would cross over....
which led me also to belive that the age of accountability was 20 in Old Testament times.
Two verses in the Book of John I have written down to explore further:
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
This was given only to his disciples at that time... what I don't understand is verse 23
He gave pretty much the same command only to his disciples in Matthew:
9 I will give you the keys(A) of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[a] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[b] loosed in heaven.”(B)
So, I'll ponder... and pray.. and thank God for his WORD
This is my new favorite iced tea ! I make it hot, chill and then have the most refreshing drink on a hot day. I like sugar in my tea and this requires about a half a teaspoon per cup for me..which is less then the usual amount I put in my iced tea..
My crochet buddy Lisa in WI sent me a sampler box to try and I love love love it!
As you know blueberries have so many antioxidants in them... well so does white tea!
Like black and green tea, white tea is also derived from Camellia sinensis. Thus, white tea shares many of the same chemical properties and health effects of tea.
However, white tea contains the most antioxidants. The particular
amount and ratio of the polyphenol compounds found in tea varies widely
from one type of white tea to another, frequently overlapping with
chemical compositions found in green tea. This is due both to the
variation between strain of Camellia sinensis, as well as the preparation process itself. These compounds have been shown to protect against certain types of cancer both in vitro and in vivo. (Wikepedia)
This is another I feel will taste good iced...
Give it a try... and have a fine day... all day long!
Both from Adiago Teas which I am really loving this month. I have not tasted a bad flavor from them yet and the blends are unique and delicious.
Citrus green and Foxtrot.
Citrus Green is one I will definitely be buy again and trying as an iced tea. so refreshing! I have not really gotten inot green teas but this might push me in that direction. Foxtrot is peppermint, chamomile and robios/ vanilla.. a dolop of honey and it makes a great bedtime drink... very warming/ comfort food like in a cup.
The tea bags are a msh pyramid shape that is very different..
