Storage is at a minimum around here so some of our apples for oatmeal, granola and future crisps go into the food dehydrator. My father in law found ours for under 5.00 at a thrift shop . I think this is a great place to look for one if you are not sure dehydrating is something you want to do long term .
These nifty little devices are great for peeling, coring and slicing apples.
I dip the slices in lemon juice to prevent the dried apples from turning brown.
Make sure the slices are not layered on the racks.
We are searching for a great juicer to be able to turn these scraps to juice and cider.... in the mean time the chickens are having a bit of a feast.
