Whew! Things have come back to normal with a BANG!
A few days one of our roosters just disappeared.... Whitey was the weaker of the two roosters... our other rooster, Russell, was a real bully... with cats, other chickens... and PEOPLE.....well, this morning we heard a rukus out in the yard and from no where whitey had returned and was in a blood bath battle with Russell.... and Whitey was winning.... by the time we got them seperated Russell was in such bad shape he had to be put down.
Well, while we were on chicken disposal, Sara calls broken down by the side of the road..." can daddy Chris come help me".... by all means! So we jumped in the car and rescued our fair damsel in distress.... We were glad to do it....
After that is was a grocery store experiment we had talked about for a couple of weeks...simply shopping loss leaders and coupons. The bill was a bit cheaper , we need to see how the food flow goes for the week....
Off and on for the last year I have been following a blog called 5$ Dinners.
We are following the weekly menu this week... it looks great and a couple of recipes we have never tried. She also gives printable lists for grocery shopping. I do not own her cookbook ( yet) so for Wed. I will have left overs as that is Chris' karate night and he eats a subway sub after class.
...so when I was couch ridden the last couple of days I picked up my cross stitch again ( after years)... since we moved the den I have a HUGE window behind my seat and can see the fabric and holes so much better. I even ordered some linen to tray doing so intricate stuff I have wanted to try. One of the things I finished up ( along with a lighthouse piece I started 13 years ago) was this cute MISTLETOE REINDEER I decided it reminded me of one of my nephews so today I even dug in the closet for Christmas fabric and gold ribbon to finish it off. Very cute and easy to follow. I enjoyed it.
while we were putting groceries away and fixing dinner.... Chris and I noticed our hotpads were getting a bit raggedy...so tonight I am going to be doing a couple of THESE The pattern is interesting looking and seems simple.... I have a couple of TV shows qued up to enjoy while I am doing them.
..this morning I was first up so after making myself a cuppa tea I snuggled in with my blanket and a cat or two and read 1st Timothy. So much goodness...
Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great:
He appeared in the flesh,
was vindicated by the Spirit,
was seen by angels,
was preached among the nations,
was believed on in the world,
was taken up in glory.
Believe....and have a fine day...all day long!
