Yes, its true the YMCA has made the change ..we are now just ..the y (small y)..still a christian organization ..so they say...I just don't do change... didn't like it when the pepsi logo changed.............don't like it when my place of employment changes....oh well..
My part time job turned full time this week when I subbed for one of the employees. I work with the best folks...and get to serve the best people...really its like just going to visit friends for the day... sure like any job there are moments....but no moments we all can't just get through and carry on...
...Here are a few moments from a day...
this year NBADL player Marcus Campbell hung out at our Y... We all enjoyed him so much and he befriended Christopher who really appreciated the encouragement and tips...he leaves for France this week..sniff sniff....
now what are all of us employees doing while you're in there burning down the calories..............
we're eating this..........
It deserved a side view shot
..onof our board members brought this to us...Thurs I believe... Monday was homemade carrot cake with cream cheese frosting...Tuesday was chocolate covered peanuts and Fri. was a delicious slice of devils food from Maria and Wed was a huge crossant from the local farmers market..yes.... we are pigs..
I had to snap this picture of Paula, a die hard Tarheel fan whose son picked State to attend...
she is a hoot to work with, really I consider everyone there my friend...
.We ended the week by googling the #1 song of the year from our graduation years....
We couldn't get Cynthia away from her grad year song..............When Doves Cry ..I really was never a Prince fan..even when he became just a symbol
..I bet you're rather jealous YOU don't work at the Y (y)..
so I leave you with the brownie trifle recipe... addictive
1 box brownie mix
1 (10 oz.) pkg. peanut butter chips
1 (5 oz.) box instant vanilla pudding
3 c. milk
1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
2 tsp. vanilla
1 (16 oz.) Cool Whip, thawed
1 package mini peanut butter cups
Line a 13 x 9 pan with aluminum foil; extend foil by 2" over side. Prepare brownie mix according to directions. Add peanut butter chips.
Bake in foil lined pan for length of time per directions. Cool completely. Lift foil out of pan. Invert on cutting board. Remove foil. Cut into small pieces. Coarsely chop the peanut butter cups but save about 8 for a garnish.
Combine pudding mix and milk in large bowl. Beat at low speed for 2 minutes or until thick. Add peanut butter and vanilla; beat until smooth. Gently fold in half of whipped topping.
Place half of the brownies in bottom of trifle bowl; top with 1/2 of chopped candybars and half of pudding. Repeat layers.
Top with remaining Cool Whip spooned or piped into decorative stars. Place a mini peanut butter cup on each star.
Enjoy the task for the day..........and have a fine day....all day long!
