..Today my oldest turns 28...How did that happen???? I am surely not old enough to have a 28 year old son!!
we were able to have a nice lunch a Mexican restaurant and spend a bit of time with him..... Oh we are so proud of that fellow! He works full time, graduated from NCSU, will be marrying a wonderful girl, has lots of interests.... but most of all we are proud of who he is! Kind, loyal, sensitive, compassionate... his family and friends are more important to him then stuff.... when the chips are down... Jamie is the one you can count on..... he is a fine man.... an honor to his parents!
... 28 years ago when Jamie made his entrance to the world... he was a bit early ( 6 weeks to be exact)... so he spent a bit of time in the NICU floor at Wake Medical center. The doctors and nurses took such great care of him! I spent hours sitting by his side talking to him and holding his little hand.... there were about 7 other babies in there with him... one tiny little babe only weighed a pound and a half when she was born.... those preemie babies are such fighters.....
so every year on Jamie's birthday..... I take that NICU unit a present.... little hats for the tiniest warriors to wear as they do battle....
..and every year while I'm crocheting the hats, I smile at the memory of Jamie sitting on one side...and Jeremy on the other laughing hysterically over this book.....
I kept a box of old hats and they would pile themon their heads.... such funny silly little boys!
This book is a must read for the under 7 set!
Pray for the troops... your children..... little babies who have hit the world too soon... and ahve a fine day...all day long!

Yay! That's great! I will look for that book, as I have 2 under 7. Have a great day!

I have an early memory of Captain Kangaroo reading that story on TV... and have loved it ever since! And such sweet little hats...
